If you are a highly motivated Consultant, have an appetite for innovation and driving change, and are looking to work in a friendly, cohesive and enthusiastic team, then we welcome your enquiry & application. This is 1.0 WTE substantive consultant post, however applications for less than full time working would be welcomed.

Main duties of the job
You will be expected to provide clinical expertise in Palliative Medicine to patients in a variety of clinical settings working closely alongside and supporting teams of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. This role is key to the ongoing development and improvement of Palliative Care services across the Bay.
As a team we provide senior Palliative Medicine support to the acute hospital sites at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital, and to the community palliative care teams across Morecambe Bay. All our senior medical posts support the Bay-wide team but roles tend to focus on a particular geographical area, across the hospital inpatient setting and in the community, allowing for continuity of care and a system-wide approach to management.
Education forms an important part of the role, from our contact with medical students, through support of postgraduate training posts, and by the education of colleagues from across the multidisciplinary team.
There’s lots of information available in the attached documents. If you’d like to chat about this role, our department and why Morecambe Bay is a great place to work, then do get in touch.
