Engagement Worker – Housing First
Resourcing Group Futures are currently managing the recruitment for Threshold Housing Partnership’s Organisational Transformation Programme and are looking for dynamic and motivated Housing and Support professionals to join them in achieving their planned vision.
The new structure went live this month and has seen a huge change across all pre-existing services and the creation of innovative and highly specialist service functions. Their desire to build and invest in a strong workforce who are able support, empower and motivate vulnerable clients to make positive changes and work towards sustainable independent living is at the heart of this transformation.
The Engagement Worker is a unique and exciting role which sits within Threshold’s Housing First Service. The service provides a fresh and unique approach to working with homeless and vulnerable people who have a local connection to Oldham, Tameside and Stockport.
The basic underlying principle of the Housing First model is that people are better able to move forward with their lives if they are first housed in permanent self-contained housing with wrap-around services as required.
You will be responsible delivering a recovery model of support to vulnerable women with complex and high needs (including women fleeing/ experiencing domestic violence and Prolific Priority Offenders). You will be focusing on motivating and empowering your clients to identify their desired outcomes and enabling them to reach their full potential, make informed decisions, and achieve greater independence.
There is a real emphasis on increasing client participation in making their own choices and engaging in the service in order to take responsibility for their future
The successful candidate will need to have a proven track record of working with vulnerable clients this can come from a range of specialisms including supported housing, domestic violence, counselling, community engagement, youth, mental health, substance misuse and offender services (including prison and probation based).
They are seeking like minded, passionate people with a ‘can do’ attitude who can come in and make a real difference to the services, and most importantly, the clients who use them.
The future of the organisation is bright, and getting on board with Threshold at any level currently is going to be a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to develop an exciting and innovative career path.
