Within the wider context and objectives of the Directorate of Children & Families, you will develop effective strategies and operational delivery models to deliver improved outcomes for children within your service area. You will be responsible for up to 5 teams based in a single locality office and specialising in one of Duty and Assessment, Child in Need and Child Protection, Looked After Children or Children With Disabilities.
 
In addition to supervising the work of your Team Managers and their teams of social work practitioners you will oversee a Consultant Social Worker who is tasked with supporting ASYEs, promoting a learning culture and supporting Social Workers with complex cases.
 
Beyond this day-to-day management responsibility you will be tasked with the development of working partnerships across services and key stakeholders to support the development and delivery of great social work practice.
 
Critical to your success in this role will be your commitment to developing others to reach their full potential. You will be supported to do this through a facilitated programme designed to help you define the most appropriate culture and working methods for your service.
 
Key objective of the role
As a Service Manager, you will provide the leadership and operational grip for children’s social work at a neighbourhood level. You will be the link with the early help hub managers and neighbourhood managers to ensure a synced approach to managing across the continuum of need.
 
Salary
up to £51,516 plus comprehensive benefits package
